State of the Mobile Nation
Event Info
Description
This event is supported by Hotwire and Mozilla.
What better time for a review of where we're at than the Autumn. It's that back to school feeling and also the start of the build up to the annual mobile industry festival in Barcelona at the end of February.
We all know mobile is bigger than a very big thing and that the speed of change is faster than anything we've seen in history. But what is actually happening? With so much going on, it's easy to miss the real innovations and game-changers in front of our eyes. Where's the smart money going and why? Who's doing interesting things and how? Will augmented reality take over the world or is it a flash in the pan? Will the machines take over in 2040? And what are we likely to see in the next 12 months that could or should directly affect our strategic thinking? Can Nokia make a come-back? Will HTML5 win the OS war? Does it matter? Will more sectors face collapse or massive change due to the not-so-humble mobile phone?
Join mobile man-about-town and Godfather of Mobile, Russell Buckley and a panel of guests who will debate and discuss all of this and more. There will be time for Q&A.
This session will be live-webcast (subject to, you know, the tech working properly). Registration details will be shared with the sponsors.
Timing:
9.30am Doors open
10am Prompt start
10.45am Session finishes. Time for networking.
*You can RSVP for this event by clicking here and reserving a ticket
Further sessions on mobile advertising and mobile payments will start at 11.15 and 13:00 respectively. Separate RSVP required for each session.
All sessions are free to attend and Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
Although the format is a panel discussion, this is a live recording, so we are limiting spaces to create a more intimate atmosphere and to allow for more discussion and comment from the audience. Therefore, space really is limited so please RSVP to reserve your spot.
Swedish Beers is also happening on 17 October at The Nordic Bar from 6.30pm.
This event forms part of London Mobile Week.
