FLASH: Menu movie clips - yuk!

Please. 

Can anyone explain why my drop down menu creates crap on the screen (type

and images look awful on and off when I click buttons) when I use toggle

high quality like Macromedia "Using Flash" suggests? If I turn all toggle

high quality off they work fine. This doesn't make sense to me. I would like

it to though so, if anyone could tell me I would be much appreciative...
