Hi all,

In October 19998 John croteau wrote:
It is likely that 50% or more of web surfers on the web at any one
time have the Flash plugin. This is because users who spend more time on
the web are more likely to have the Flash plugin or ActiveX control
installed. So the actual number of Flash capable browsers may be 35% of
Web users (estimated at 100 million Web users worldwide), the actual
percentage of surfers actually surfing with Flash at any particular time
is likely to be much higher.

Flash 3 is included as standad in Netscape 4.06 and higher Browsers.
Flash is also included as part of the standard Windows 98 installation.

Flash (sometimes still with Flash 2) is included on many CD installation
discs including AOL and MSIE.

Sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll revise my estimate of Flash
penetration on the Web.

We should be very near 50% of all browsers and 60% of surfers at any one
time.

We are waiting impatiently for authoratative numbers from MM which they
seem to have only at the end of January every year.
