FLASH: Re: Scenes versus Labels

Sorry for not replying sooner (but I'm on digest). I do want to send a

belated "thanks" to everyone who offered their advice on the topic of

using frame labels instead of scenes. I very much appreciate the

information several people offered with regard to Movie Clips and complex

navigation structure--and am beginning to appreciate the concepts

involved.


One additional question, if I may drag the thread on just a bit more. John

C. mentioned that "File size will be increased if items that appear at the

end of one scene are used in the first frame of the next." Is this true

even in the case of symbols? I was under the impression that symbols

involved one hit--so have been very careful to use symbols across scenes

in creating transitions.


Also, one clarification, when I asked earlier:


> Does John know something that MM isn't telling the rest of us?


I did include a smiley face with this question and only meant to imply

that I found it ironic that the use of scenes should be discouraged when

the manual and online documentation suggest otherwise. Sorry for any

confusion.
