Hi,

I'm glad to see some non-techo's on the list for once. Flash is a great tool for anyone who comes from a music / graphics background. Flash 4 has some great features and changes the playing field for all of
us. But whatever you do, don't feel "out of your depth" because all these guys are talking techo stuff all the time. There is a place for "art" and "expression" but it isn't on this list (it wasn't created
for art, it was created for technical glitches). This list is great for technical hints / tricks / tips. It is not good for making you feel confident about what you are doing artistically. It will point out
your technical faults but in general will not support your artistic endeavor.

Remember this and react accordingly. I get the feeling you feel a little belittled by the technical content of this list. DON'T - A brilliant animation using only Flash 2 features is the equal of any
"pushing Flash 4 to it's limits" technical marvel. Technology for technology's sake will impress other technicians. If this is your public, go for it. If this isn't your public, think several times.

If you are a graphist or an artist, use technology to help your art. Don't seek technology for technology's sake. If you are technical geek, use technology as your art. That way everyone is happy !

I use Flash 4 extensively but cannot offer much help on this list because I am no technical whizz. I like cartoons. The technical side is not an end in itself for me. The animation is. The Flash 4 actions
make my job more fun and push me to do more than I thought was possible - the "how fun is it" consideration always takes a front seat.

I hope this encourages any "non-technical" lurkers out there. Use your soul to animate. Use the advanced Flash 4 techniques as a tool, not as a master. This technology will help develop your art -it should
not be your art.
