As an artist you want to know your tools, little great art is made by

anyone who is less than a master of his craft. If you are just beginning

with Flash the MOST important thing to grasp is symbols and how to use

them. If you are creating 200K to 300K or larger behemoths, it is likely

they could be a lot smaller. All the fancy bells and whistles are no

good if the movie moves like a turtle when it supposed to be running

like a rabbit. Flash is never going to be a cheetah but if you design

with the strenghts of Flash in mind (little is better for instance) then

you could have a presentation that people will stick around to see and

enjoy watching.


If you are an artist then the important thing is to learn at your own

pace and not let it interfer with your process of creating. But you must

continually improve your technical processes so your ability in the

media is better and you can put what is in your mind to the canvas,

because no one can see what a great artist you are while your ideas are

still in your head (it's just a dream).
