Hmm, 8.5% have flash, but 11% have IE5 which ships with Flash? I think
someone should put captions on this graph explaining what its showing. Is
this the install base, the %age of user sessions where a particular plugin
is used by a browser or what? Now I may not be prepared to believe that
MacroMedias flash installed on 77% of online US machines quite yet, but I
reckon its not far off.

When a site offering flash/non-flash versions sees a majority choose Flash
(and they all do) its time to admit that HTML is no longer enough.

Now go away and revise your <embed> tags
