Ratio of visitor impressions to click-throughs might be a means of
evaluating banner success? However, that doesn't recognise banners which
are intended to generate brand-awareness rather than actually bringing
visitors through to a site.
Mind you, if the criteria for awards is success (where success is measured
in visitors) then why don't more porn sites win design awards?
