I also agree, banners have never really annoyed me excpet in the instances
where they are placed at the top of the page, and the browser wont display
the rest of it until the image is fetched. This is particularly prevelent
in www.developer.com and associated sites. Their Ad server is sometimes
slow in responding, and because there are no HEIGHT WIDTH tags on the
image, it leaves you waiting to see the page because of the ad. now this IS
an intrusion and really gets my back up.

Absolutely. Netscapes use of these has driven me bonkers.
