I'd suspect that the killer app will be email and personalised content.

A combination of the 2: set up your email & choose your content that will be
delivered to your wap email addr each day/week/ etc.

The current WAP offering is too much like hard work to browse the web, so I
believe that any rewarding experience would have to be personalised,
interactive and most importantly require as little key-pressing as possible.

Managing expectations comes to mind!!
Having been in telecoms for most of my career Ive seen the evolution from
analogue to digital and then the explosion of SMS and mobile data which I
was marketing back in '96 and thought was the most exciting thing at that
time.
