Tools for Social Media Week: Sched, HotPotato & Pegshot

And so it begins…MediaCamp London is already underway with 25 other events to follow (there’s still a few places at some).

To help navigate and record your time at SMW London events, the folks coordinating in New York (waves to Toby, Lauren & crew), there’s some useful iPhone apps to manage your schedule, aggregate Twitter/FlickR activity and ge-locate pictures as you take them.

We’ve already blogged about Sched, which makes it easy to navigate the week’s schedule of events with live updating, here’s some more info about HotPotato and Pegshot:

PegShot

Pegshot is an iPhone application that allows you to instantly share images and videos with the people that you care about. For Social Media Week, they are going to geo-tag every single event across all six cities. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you will
be able to check into a SMW event and then take pictures or videos and share with your Twitter followers or Facebook friends and they will instantly know where you are and which events you’re attending.

Hot Potato

Hot Potato is another iPhone app that is focused on making it easy to connect audiences around live events as they’re happening. They provide the Hot Potato iPhone app and Web interface for sharing the experience of a live event with a
friends and other interested people (attending, watching, or just following along). It will be great for Social Media Week events as it will combine commentary and photos generated by the audience on Hot Potato (and can import tweets from twitter as
well) and organize the real time stream of people and interaction around your event. Again, they will geo-tag every event, so all you need to do is download the app.
