I think I may be of some initial help here.


I just joined the Flasher-l list. My name is Pete Caban, from the

1. When a user saves a piece of content, the Remote takes the downloaded

.dcr or .swf file and moves it (and associated external assets), and puts

them into a folder within the Shockwave Remote folder structure. The Remote

launches the saved content (within a local template HTML file) which

contains the origin URL, the creator's copyright information, and links back

to the creator's site.


2. Shockmachine works a bit differently. There is no browser required to

playback a movie within Shockmachine. Shockmachine is a Director 7.02

projector, which can play back .dcr and .swf files. Copyright info, links

etc, are also part of the save and replay experience.


3. Also, a frequently asked Flash question: Shockmachine uses Director's

Flash Asset Xtra to play back saved .swf files.
