FLASH: Actionscript - Get Properties

This covers Get Properties which allows you to find out the state of

different properties. Get property is often used in conjunction with Set

Property which you should read and understand first.

The Flash 3/4 detection scheme (all inside the single swf file) has been

corrected (I hope) and if anyone is still having problems seeing the

buttons with Flash 4, please let me know. The detection scheme is only

in the swf file on the web and not in the downloaded versions.


There is a bug demonstated in the GetProperties Bird demo.

It has two repercusions so the question is:

1) What is the bug?

2) What is the side effect?

3) What is causing the bug?

4) How do you prevent the bug?

5) How do you prevent the secondary effect?

 

I have a T-Shirt for the first person to provide the best and most

complete solutions for parts 4 and 5. I'll take submissions until

Thursday July 1, 1999 (EST).
