Hi Aaron,
There are a couple of solutions but the one I like best, as I
frequently work that way too, is to select all the items in a frame
further into the movie clip and copy them, then paste all into a special
layer in the first frame of the movie clip. I usually label that layer
temporary or some such. Then I keep each movie clip on its own layer on
the main timeline so I can make them visible or invisible as needed.
Once everything looks like I want to do a test movie, I make all these
temporary first frame layers guides so that they don't show up in the
test. That way I don't have to do the temp guide frame again and again
as editing is needed. This only makes the fla size larger it does not
effect the swf export size.
