Subject: RE: UKNM: What is e-business?

There are many shades of eBusiness - on the one end of the scale there
is your digital-only company (think of mp3.com and the likes). If I can
pay my local off-licence with eCash using my bluetooth-capable phone,
does that make it an eBusiness? I think so. 'e' can stretch vertically
right through your organisation (from procurement to post-sale) or
affect just part of it.

Somehow I can't help thinking that 'eBusiness' is more marketing-driven
than a defined reality - everyone is doing e, so now it's mCommerce and
even v-Business (voice).

Just like New Media not being New anymore but new or just plain media
(see recent thread), eBusiness will presumably become normal and lose
the e.
