He probably also jumped up and down saying, "I told you so" when Freeserve
temporarily dipped below its issue price, without realising that a company
with 1/2 million pounds turnover that just raised over 100 million pounds
to spend as they saw fit was the attraction for people like me. Anyone with
shares in Freeserve that were bought at or below ?1.50 per share is now
laughing back.

A reality-check was always on the cards, of course, but solid businesses
with great staff (please send us your CVs...we need more!) and a good
product will now be free to get a realistic valuation. I think this year's
buzzword may turn out to be "profitability" though.
