If it doesn't work then how come they're launching it in October?

Need I say more?

They still haven't sorted out the licenses yet, afair it's just been put
back till next year and the hardware is still in development, but the major
players are investing hard in this technology, witness the many Lucent UMTS
adverts in every electronics mag you pick up.

The great problem is getting people to invest in the kit, if the norwebs
ntls and BT Adsl people offer the equipment like mobile phone operators
then it'll be quick, if they charge for installation and equipment then it
will take forever. Witness the amazing growth for satellite systems since
the boxes went free.
