Virgin Net is to become a portal Web site for a new service offering

Internet access through the television. 


The service will begin later this month, and is one of the first to be

offered by cable TV group NTL, which has announced plans for a variety of

interactive TV services for cable and terrestrial digital television. 


Content partners include Microsoft, Barclays Bank, Airtours and The Daily

Telegraph.
