In the words of the Emcee from Cabaret, Money Makes the World Go Around and it's no different for our world of mobile technology. Getting paid for goods and services via a mobile device has become increasingly important as the growth of and distribution of mobile devices has gone exponential. And the range of ways to do just that is increasing all the time to match that growth. Whether it's good old-fashioned PSMS (premium SMS) to NFC (isn't that a solution needing a problem to solve, or is that just me?) to the likes of iZettle and Square. Just who exactly is making money in the business of mobile money? Do customers even want a mobile wallet and if so, what does that even look like? Where should an app developer start when it comes to getting paid for their apps? Will this just become a battle between GAFA (Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple) sidelining the network operators and banks alike? And hey, wait a minute, where's PayPal in this story? And is Pingit really as much of a success as they say it is? And if so, who is it a success for?
Tim Green will be your host for this session. Formerly Executive Editor of Mobile Entertainment Magazine, he's about to launch his new site, Mobile Money Revolution covering m-money, m-payments, m-commerce and more. Join Tim and his panel for a lively debate on whether mobile money will indeed make the world go around.
