Can't speak for everyone but you'll never have to pay for a listing on
Zingin.com. Having said that, the Excite model (paying extra for a quick
answer) is an interesting one and is something we have considered.

Generally most people are happy to wait for us to decide whether to list
them but we do occasionally get people (usually web design companies or,
less often, PR people) who keep submitting day after day, week after week,
until they get an answer. We have toyed with the idea of offering a
guaranteed 12 hour response either saying "yes, you've been listed" or "no -
and here's why...." but judging by the response to Excite and Yahoo's trials
we are worried that people will think we are charging for listings.

Obviously whether people pay or not would NEVER affect their chances of
listing but would anyone use this kind of service? Does it matter than 85%
of sites submitted to us are rejected?

I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks..

Cheers,

Paul
