Hi David...

If you tell the movie, on Frame 3 to "Go To and Play Next Frame" it will go
to frame 4 or the next layer or what have you, and then proceed to play the
rest of the movie (as if it were local) that it just preloaded.

(read on)

>>Frame 1 - Nothing, just label it FirstFrame
>>Frame 2 - If Frame LastFrame (Make "LastFrame" your LABEL for the (duh)
last
>>frame)
>> Go To and Play (Wherever you want, outside of this
loop)
>>Frame 3 - Go To and Play "FirstFrame"

Okay, here's my pre-loader tutorial, unpolished and in rough draft format:

Take your existing movie and Insert a new Scene. Label your Scene Loader
(or whatever you choose). Move the Scene to the top-most position using
drag-and-drop on the upper right-hand side of your Flash window. Rename the
other Scene Main Movie.

Now youve got what appears to be a clean movie slate. Here, you can create
content to your hearts content. Feel free. Got it? Great! Lets move on.

Lets pretend, to make this all easier, that your Main Movie is 100 frames
long. Select the tab for your Main Movie. Create a new layer and label it
Actions. There will be nothing in this layer other than blank keyframes
to define key points within the Main Movie. Select Frame 25 on the
Actions layer. Hit F6 to create a keyframe. Double-click the
keyframe. Select the tab Label. Label the frame 25%. Repeat this at
frame 50, 75 and 100 and label those their respective percentages.

Return to the Loader Scene. Lets say that your loader has a Loading bar
that shows just how much of the movie has been loaded. This can be achieved
in as few as XX frames. Label the first layer Loading Bar. Create a
second layer and label it Actions. (For all intense and purposes, well
pretend you have a loader bar that is 1) empty 2) 25% full 3) 50% full 4)
75% full 5) 100% full)

In frame 1, place your empty loader bar on the Loader Bar Layer. In frame 2
on the Actions Layer, create a keyframe (f6) and double-click the keyframe.
Select the Actions tab. Select the + and select the If Frame Is
Loaded. Select Main Movie as the scene and then choose the label of
25%. Then select the + and choose Go To and click the Play box.
Select Frame and enter 4. Select OK and close out the Actions window.
In frame 3 on the Actions layer, create a keyframe and double-click the
keyframe. Select the Actions tab and choose Go To and click the Play
box. Select Frame and enter 1.

Repeat these steps throughout for the rest of the pre-loader sequence.

At each level, if the labeled section from the Main Movie is not loaded,
the Loader section will loop back until that frame is loaded and then move
forwarded to the next section. Happy PreLoading!
