This is following Virginwine.com's competition for a holiday to Bransons

Necker Island- With Virgin you had to offer ten friends as martyrs to spam.

Fortunately no one nominated me, but then I dont have any friends.


	While this kind of thing flys in the face of permission marketing, it is a

good, viral way of bringing clicks to a new site. So long as they keep the

spam to a minimum and dont sell on the list. The real trouble is that the

idea gets passed on to people with fewer principles and less respect than

virgin, who for all their faults, probably behave responsibly and keep

unsolicited mail to a minimum.

you must like your friends to want to spam them (spam: unsolicited

commercial email). they must love you to put up with it. and i'm

intrigued - did syzygy do this site (in which case syzygy would suck

audibly in terms of their consideration to netiquette), and if so is

this post in itself spam (or is this now an "unfocused" list)?


nice thought though, just curious as to motive.
