Bio
I am a knowledge transfer professional working in innovation and enterprise, with experience in business, universities and research organisations. I am currently managing the European Space Agency’s UK business incubator (the ESA BIC) at the STFC Rutherford Laboratory at Harwell, Oxfordshire. In addition I am the immediate past Chair of the professional association PraxisUnico, a non-executive director of the not-for-profit STEM organisation TeenTech CIC, and a member of the UK Digital Skills Taskforce.
The network of ESA BICs across Europe works to support start-up and early-stage companies to commercialise technologies developed for space in non-space applications. We provide a programme of financial, technical and commercial support. I welcome contacts from individuals or organisations interested in applying to become part of the programme or collaborating with us to deliver it. See http://www.esa-bic.org.uk for more information or email me at sue [dot] oharestfc [dot] ac [dot] uk.
PraxisUnico is the UK’s leading organisation for professionals working in innovation and commercialisation of research for social and economic impact. We play a key role in training, developing and representing our profession, facilitating the interaction between the public sector research base, business and government. See http://www.praxisunico.org.uk/ for more information.
TeenTech is an award winning industry-led initiative founded in 2008 by Maggie Philbin and Chris Dodson to help the “X Factor” generation understand their true potential and the real opportunities available in the contemporary STEM workplace. See http://www.teentech.com/ for more information.
