Description

Guest of Honour: Ron Finlay, Chief Executive, The Senet Group

This seminar will be a timely opportunity to examine the key commercial and policy issues for gambling in the UK, focusing particularly on the growth of the online sector and associated technology.

Delegates will discuss the future of policy on levies and on the regulation of Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs). Sessions will also consider key areas for growth within the sector, particularly online and through mobile, and regulatory harmonisation in light of possible effects on the sector throughout Europe of the EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive. The agenda will also bring out latest thinking on social impact, following steps undertaken by policymakers and industry in relation to FOBTs and aggressive marketing practices, with delegates assessing progress and the effectiveness of steps taken to help vulnerable groups, particularly those struggling with addiction, and further options for policy and industry practice.

We are delighted that Ron Finlay, Chief Executive, The Senet Group and Andrew Lyman, Director, Group Regulatory Affairs, William Hill have agreed to deliver keynote addresses at this seminar.

Other confirmed speakers at this early stage include: Jason Chess, Partner, Wiggin; Steve Donoughue, Gambling Consultant and Clerk, All-Party Parliamentary Betting and Gaming Group; Clive Hawkswood, Chief Executive Officer, Remote Gambling Association; Peter Howitt, Chief Executive Officer, Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association; Councillor Tony Page, LGA Licensing Champion and Deputy Leader, Reading Borough Council; Simon Trussler, Director, KPMG; Matt Zarb-Cousin, Campaign Consultant, Campaign for Fairer Gambling and David Zeffman, Partner, Olswang.

We are delighted that Philip Davies MP, Member, All-Party Parliamentary Betting and Gaming Group has agreed to chair a session at this seminar.
