Description

This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the future of digital infrastructure in Scotland.

It takes place in the context of the Scottish Government’s digital infrastructure action plan, and delegates will assess the extent to which the Scottish Government’s aim of delivering a step change in the use of the internet within Scotland has been achieved - and progress on improving speeds and ease of access, geographical coverage and digital participation.

The conference will bring together key policymakers in the Scottish Government and Parliament with representatives from the telecommunications industry and wider business interests, service providers, local authorities and community groups, and other stakeholders.

Further sessions will assess the progress of the Government’s Digital 2020 Vision, as well as next steps for attracting inward investment, transforming delivery of public services, responding to the challenges of a low-carbon economy and ensuring that the present and future digital needs of citizens and communities across the whole of Scotland are met. This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the future of digital infrastructure in Scotland.
