Don't Miss the Deadline! SMWLDN Event Submission Deadline - 21st August

Are you planning an event during Social Media Week London this September (24th - 28th)?  Have you submitted it to the schedule yet? You need to make it quick, the event submission deadline is 21st August, just two weeks away!

Also, the SMWLDN Sept '12 Schedule goes live tonight, with our official London schedule launch tomorrow morning.

Not to worry, we have all you need to know to submit your event below.

What do I need to do to submit my event?

The very first thing you need to do is download and read the attached document, "Instructions for Hosting SMWLDN 2012 Events". This explains the process in detail, covering all of the below and should answer any questions you might have:

  1. Selecting an Event Topic
  2. Choosing an Event Format
  3. Selecting Speakers
  4. Briefing your Speakers
  5. Choosing a Location / Venue
  6. Event Submission, Scheduling & RSVP
  7. Application to Hold Event in an Official SMWLDN Hub
  8. Registration
  9. Event Hashtag (Twitter)
  10. Promoting Your Event
  11. Producing Your Event
  12. Streaming Your Event

Please note, we're a small team and there's a limit on the volume of enquries we're able to handle. With this in mind, we'd really appreciate it if you could read the Instructions document before emailing us as it should cover any questions you have.

Once you're ready to submit your event, head over to the Social Media Week London website - you'll need to sign in or register, and then submit your event!

Official SMWLDN Hubs

There is a very limited amount of space available in this September's Hubs for some of the best Social Media Week London Sept '12 events.

If you would like to apply for the chance for your event to be accepted into an Official SMWLDN Hub, once you've submitted your event via the above link, please email smwatchinwag [dot] com with your event description and why your event should be eligible. Hub themes we are looking at include:

  • Advertising & Marketing
  • Business & Enterprise
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Sport, Entertainment & Culture
  • Media, Mobile & Lifestyle
  • Community & Conversation
  • "How To"

If your event is selected into a SMWLDN Hub, there may be costs involved to cover PA/AV, catering etc. However, all events held in SMW Hubs will be promoted via SMWLDN and Chinwag channels.
