The Digital Mission to DC Meet The White House - Exclusive New Events

We have some very exciting new events to add to the already packed full Digital Mission to Washington.

Not only will mission companies be visiting The US State Department on Thursday morning, we have also arranged an afternoon of very exclusive government briefings with World Bank (tbc), U.S. Department of AgricultureThe Federal Communications CommissionWhite House Deputy CTO Chris Vein and General Services Administration’s Sheila Campbell.

The first part of the afternoon will see the companies head to The World Bank (tbc) for a session on 'meeting the government’. They will hear from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and The Federal Communications Commission.

The event will focus on the effort that has gone into opening data, creating apps and running contests to stimulate citizen developers and entrepreneurs to get involved in 'hacking' government over the past 2 years.

After this download on data, apps and citizen engagement, the group will hear from White House Deputy CTO Chris Vein and General Services Administration’s (the agency that manages that admin for most federal agencies) Sheila Campbell on Innovation and technology in government.

These sessions are exclusive to the companies on the mission and have been set up with their objectives and priorities in mind, helping to build links between Washington and the UK.

Adding these events into the allready packed programme makes for a very exciting, exclusive and intense week. We know we have announced lots of new events in the past few weeks so thought we better give you a run down of the updated mission programme:

  • VIP Reception and Digital Mission Showcase
  • DC Tech Meetup Event
  • Breakfast at Affinity Lab to hear about the startup scene in DC and the shared incubator programmes and spaces
  • Social Innovation Speed Networking hosted at Deloitte
  • Tour of the Capital

So as you can see, it's going to be a busy week.

We've had a few requests to extend the deadline to this Friday, 17th June to apply. Don’t miss out on this opportunity, apply now.
