Social Media Week FAQs

Hold yourself no longer, shield your eyes no more! It’s time to have a proper look at Social Media Week London, a multifaceted festival of Social like no other.

Oh, and you can win a pair of flights

With the excitement building, we’re fielding all sorts of questions about #SMWLDN - a week-long celebration of all things Social. Here’s a quick breakdown of the most popular queries.

First up, Who’s coming?

Nokia, Microsoft Corporation, BT, Cadbury/Mondelez International, JCDecaux, Eventbrite, Skype, Virgin, IBM Interactive, NBC, OMD International, Sysomos, Ketchum, Ogilvy and Mather, QVC, Mintel, EngageSciences, Catalysis, Trader Media Group, Indiegogo, Ticketmaster, Yelp, UNICEF UK, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs.

Are there any Networking Opportunities?

A few drinks and a spot of networking? Indeed, there’s events daily with Salesforce, Silverpop, Eventbrite, breakfast with BLOOM Worldwide, lunch with Richard Branson as well as the VIP Opening Reception and Closing Party.

What are these ‘Masterclasses’?

Masterclasses are a chance to engage with big brands in an intimate learning atmosphere (meaning limited seating). All sessions are reserved for VIP Pass holders.

In a range of classes covering a wide array of topics, you can get up close and personal with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Pinterest, EngageSciences, Mendeley, Outbrain, Crowdcube, Nokia and many more.

What are the Hubs?

The action is centered on our 4 official hubs, including a huge custom venue in Covent Garden, our SMWLDN HQ. In addition to the main auditorium, there’ll be Masterclass rooms, food trucks, installations from Nokia, Brandwatch, EngageSciences plus a networking lounge and, on Friday: Demo Day.

How Can I Win Flights?

Thanks to our friends at Virgin, we are offering all new VIP sign-ups a chance to win a pair of complimentary return flights on their Little Red airway.

Buy a VIP Pass, register for events, share your schedule via your Social Media channels (using #SMWLDN) and you’ll be put in the running for one of five pairs of return flights to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, or Manchester.

The competition will run from now until Monday 16th September, so plenty of time to get your Pass and start organising your SMWLDN Schedule. Winners will be selected at random and notified by email on Tuesday 17th September. More info here.

If you’ve any more questions, drop us a line. We can be found on Twitter and Facebook. We especially like to hear about which events you’re planning to attend...
