[Press Release] Top Creative and Digital Tech Leaders to Headline Digital Shoreditch Festival
Taking place from 21st May to 1st June 2012, the second annual Digital Shoreditch Festival celebrates the world-class expertise within East London’s vibrant digital community.
The festival promises to showcase the most talented companies and brightest individuals within the digital and creative technologies sectors bringing together some of the best local, national and international minds. Speakers will include Andrew Gilbert, Executive Vice President, European Innovation Development at Qualcomm and Simon Acland, venture capitalist and author of the acclaimed Angels, Dragons and Vultures.
Patou Nuytemans, EAME Chief Digital Officer at Ogilvy & Mather, who will be speaking at the festival’s Brands Day said: “A prerequisite for a successful agency in the digital age is collaboration with the best technology, innovation, content, expert companies and talent in the industry - not just for the delivery of effective and creative solutions for our clients, but from the start, at the idea stage. That's why we partner with Ravensbourne, Ideas Foundation, MIPTV and now Digital Shoreditch. We couldn't be more excited to have such an incredible source of inspiration on our doorstep.”
Mark Earls, author and founder of HERD Consulting will be keynoting at the Brand Summit: “It's great to be part of the larger conversation as people come together to share ideas and inspiration. I'll be discussing some ideas about engagement in the digital age explored in my books (HERD and I'll Have What She's Having) and in particular about what I call the shift from "P" to "Q" (more on the day, I promise)"
Other names to watch are Marcus Stuttard, Head of AIM, London Stock Exchange; and Jeff Lynn, Co-founder and CEO of Seedrs.
Simon Acland, Author of Angels, Dragons and Vultures said: “Historically, Shoreditch has always been one of London’s most important entrepreneurial hubs. Digital Shoreditch is the latest manifestation, and with it will come angels, dragons and vultures looking for investment opportunities. All of these beasts are for life, not just for Christmas, and in my talk I hope to provide a few tips about how entrepreneurs can make the most of bringing equity investment into their ventures and avoid the many pitfalls.”
Throughout the festival, speakers and guests will be debating and sharing ideas on topics including funding, innovation, inspiration and marketing. Each day of the festival has a theme:
- ‘Brands Day’ will showcase exceptional talent in branding, marketing, advertising and social engagement across all sectors
- ‘Capital Day’ will provide networking opportunities to young entrepreneurs and investors
- ‘Next Day’ will examine the digital future and exploring the next ‘big ideas’ in creativity and technology amongst others.
Housed inside the impressive Hackney House, right in the heart of Tech City, Digital Shoreditch will provide the ultimate platform to connect companies, innovators, investors and anyone with an interest in digital.
